Our client

Since its foundation in 1978, Bluewater has built a technological lead specialising in design, development, lease and operation of tanker-based production and storage systems, and has become a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems. Bluewater currently owns and operates a number of Floating Production Storage and Offloading Systems (FPSOs): the Glas Dowr, the Aoka Mizu, the Bleo Holm, the Hæwene Brim and Munin, which are producing in the UK, Norwegian Sector and Asia.

The Legal department is responsible for signaling and avoiding legal and reputational harm to Bluewater (and its management and shareholders) and to ensure that risk is being recognized and optimally allocated between Bluewater and its contractual partners in order to contribute to the realization of the company's goals and strategy.

Job description Legal Counsel Bluewater

Skout is looking for a young, energetic Legal Counsel with a natural drive to work in a technical environment. You will be part of a dedicated, small legal team. Striving for quality and visibility to the business. You will advise and support management, project groups and departments on all matters with legal implications to the companys business. The daily activities include evaluate, review, draft and negotiate (complex) contracts with external parties. Provide advice on a wide range of legal matters in various jurisdictions and handle disputes and claims. You will also ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations. You will report to the Head of the Legal department.

Requirements Legal Counsel Bluewater

• Master's degree in law, preferably in Maritime or International law;
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a law related function within an international environment;
• Preferably some experience in oil and gas related industry;
• Excellent understanding of the English and Dutch language, written and spoken;
• Flexibility and willingness to travel abroad.

Most important: you are a results-oriented, pro-active professional with a pragmatic approach who enjoys working in teams within a technically challenging environment.


A challenging position within a highly dynamic and international environment. A gross yearly salary in line with market conditions, including a 13th month and holiday allowance. Furthermore is applicable a non-contributory pension plan and a collective medical insurance.
